Terms of use for the BillRobin bill check.
Updated 2026-10-25 · Version terms-2026-10-v3
These terms are an agreement between you and 2542038 Alberta Ltd., which runs BillRobin (Suite 349, 9218 Ellerslie Road SW, Edmonton AB T6X 0K6, hello@billrobin.com). Alberta law applies.
What BillRobin does.
You send us your electricity and gas bills. A computer reads them and works out the estimated yearly cost of the plans we could compare for your home, cheapest first, beside what you pay now. A person at BillRobin may check the result.
We show you the facts: what each plan would cost your home, cheapest first. We never choose for you, contact retailers for you or switch your plan. You decide, and you switch yourself if you want to.
Free during our launch period.
The bill check is free during our launch period. We will not charge you anything without asking you first. Before we start charging, we will tell you the fee and how it works, and you can choose.
Who can use it.
You must be 18 or older, and the bills must be for a home in Alberta. Send only bills that are yours or that you have permission to send, for example as the account holder's attorney or with their written permission.
Our results are estimates.
Results are estimates based on your bills and on the prices and terms we found on the date we checked. Your use, the weather, prices and retailers' terms can change. Introductory prices are counted only for the months they last. Always confirm the price and terms with the retailer before you sign anything. For an independent check, call the Utilities Consumer Advocate at 310-4822.
If something is wrong.
Tell us. We will check it, correct your result if needed, and tell you.
Your information.
Our privacy notice explains what we collect and why. We store your bills and results in Canada and never sell your information.
Emails.
We email you about your bill check. We send news and offers only if you say yes, and you can stop at any time.
Your rights.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Alberta's Consumer Protection Act or any other law. We do not require arbitration. If we disagree, we will first try to sort it out with you. You can also contact the Utilities Consumer Advocate, or Service Alberta's consumer contact centre at 1-877-427-4088. The courts of Alberta decide any dispute.
Our responsibility.
We take care to get your result right, and we fix our mistakes. We are not responsible for what a retailer charges or does.
Copying our content and data.
You may not copy, scrape or extract our content or data without our written permission. This applies whether it is done by automated means or by hand. You may not reuse our content or data for any commercial purpose without our written permission. You may not get around any measure we use to limit automated access. Changes to these terms.
If we change these terms, we will post the new version here and email you before it applies to you. We will tell you at least 30 days before our launch period ends.
