BillRobin is an Alberta service that checks household electricity and gas bills, free during our launch. Send PDFs of your bills; a photo works too. We compare the plans available at your address. Your result shows what you pay now, the cheapest eligible plans and your estimated saving. We never phone you or come to your door. We never switch your plan.
We cannot compare electricity plans for homes with solar panels that send power to the grid yet. We can still check their gas plan. Your result explains any plans we could not compare and why.
One comparison, based on your household
The cheapest advertised rate is not always the cheapest plan for your home. BillRobin compares your electricity and natural-gas usage, current contract, fees and the plans we can price. Then we show you one comparison, which a person at BillRobin may check. It is neutral. You can open the basis when you want it.

What goes into a useful comparison
Our check uses the same household usage and dates across the alternatives, including fees and confirmed eligibility.
- Energy rates, administration and transaction charges, material taxes and switching costs.
- Promotion start and end dates, successor rates and eligibility.
- Fixed, floating and default-rate mechanics.
- Current contract terms, deposits, payment requirements and separate fuel activation dates.
- Known gaps in coverage or evidence, stated before showing a result.
A low headline rate cannot resolve an unknown material fee. Nor can a historical price spike establish the probability of a future spike. Read our comparison method for the distinction between evidence, estimates and actual outcomes.
The decision stays with you
Each retailer enrollment, renewal or return offer remains your decision. An updated result creates a dated record; it does not erase the original result.
Your interests come first
Retailer commissions must not determine coverage or hide a cheaper plan. If a plan pays us a commission, we say so and it does not change the order.

Can I upload a bill or buy a report now?
You can send your bills for a check. There is nothing to buy.
Will I have to choose from a spreadsheet of plans?
You see one comparison. The basis and assumptions are one click away for people who want more detail.
Does BillRobin always favour fixed rates?
No. Fixed, floating and default options need local evidence and separate treatment for electricity and gas. Price protection and projected cash savings are different benefits.
What if I have just moved or do not have a full year of bills?
The comparison must distinguish measured usage from an estimate and keep different homes separate. We identify missing evidence rather than invent a personal savings baseline.
