Spruce Grove: save $39 a year with a smaller garbage cart

How Spruce Grove prices garbage carts by size, what the city’s own page says, and how to ask the city for a smaller one.

The short answer

Spruce Grove bills garbage by the size of the cart. The city’s own prices show a lower yearly cost for the smaller cart.

Small (120 L) instead of Regular (240 L): $39.00 a year less for Small (120 L) than for Regular (240 L). The city quotes $18.45 a month and $21.70 a month. Garbage cart charge only. (from 1 April 2025) [source]

Price period: The rates page says rates are as of April 1, 2025. A city news item of February 10, 2026 says solid waste fees are unchanged.

This is a saving on a city service. It is separate from any saving on your electricity or gas.

These prices compare the sizes. They do not mean your home has the larger cart now, or that a smaller cart would be enough for your home.

The yearly saving above does not include any one-time fee to change a cart.

The exchange is free. The new cart arrives by the start of the next month.

The city decides who can change a cart and when. Its page explains the rules.

You ask the city, not BillRobin. BillRobin does not arrange the change.
